Communication Technologies Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification
Communication Technologies, Inc. (COMTek), an industry leader in
information systems and telecommunications technology and professional
services, has received ISO 9001:2000 certification by Intertek
Testing Services (ITS). COMTek’s Quality Management System
is registered to ISO 9001:2000. The Quality Management System is
applicable to "Providing Professional and Technical Services
in the Areas of Information Technology, Program Management, Training
and Applications Development."
COMTek’s ISO 9001:2000 certification was initiated through
the Department of Defense’s Mentor-Protégé Program
with the mentorship of IBM. Brought together through both company’s
mutual relationship with the Defense Information Systems Agency
(DISA), COMTek with assistance from IBM has accomplished this major
milestone in one year. Joseph E. Fergus, President and Chief Executive
Officer of COMTek stated that, “Achieving this ISO 9001:2000
certification demonstrates our continued commitment to increasing
customer satisfaction and improving our service quality."
ISO 9001:2000 specifies requirements for a quality management system
for any organization that needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently
provide product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements
and aims to enhance customer satisfaction. It was developed by
the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) headquartered
in Switzerland. It is a worldwide federation of national standards
bodies from more than 140 countries to develop common international
standards.
