Chantilly, VA, Communication Technologies Inc., (COMTek), a national leader in delivering trusted information technology and telecommunications solutions for mission-critical environments, announced today that the City of Hampton has acknowledged the contributions of COMTek in conjunction with Virginia’s Business Appreciation Week, May 16-22. This year’s theme is “Together We Make a Difference.” COMTek was presented the proclamation at the Hampton City Council’s regular meeting last Wednesday. The company was recognized as one of four companies who made a significant impact to the community because of the revenues the company has generated and the employees it has hired in the Hampton, Virginia area. “We are honored to be recognized by the City of Hampton for the contributions we’ve made to the Hampton Roads area and equally pleased to be considered a business partner,” said Joseph E. Fergus, COMTek’s President and CEO. “COMTek has made a significant impact to the community. Since locating here in 2002, the company has brought more than 40 new high-wage jobs to Hampton helping to sustain the local economy,” said Charles Wornom, Hampton’s Mayor. “COMTek is an integral piece of our business community and this recognition is well-deserved.” Business Appreciation Week is a statewide acknowledgment of the
collective efforts of Virginia’s diverse business community.
Business Appreciation Week is being celebrated now with local and
regional events. The weeklong event is sponsored by the Virginia
Department of Business Assistance, the economic development agency
devoted to the growth and success of the Commonwealth’s business
