COMTek NAMES NEW DIRECTOR OF SALES FOR CARIBBEAN AND LATIN AMERICA

CHANTILLY, VA. & ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - (August 8, 2006) – Communication Technologies, Inc. (COMTek), a high-speed broadband service provider, announced today that it has hired Catherine L. York as the firm´s new managing director of sales for the Caribbean and Latin America. She will be based in COMTek´s Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas office.
York most recently was a senior vice president of the enterprise solutions group at GVI Security Solutions in Washington, D.C. She has 15 years of experience in public affairs, lobbying and government sales.

In addition to her most recent position at GVI Security Solutions, York also co-founded and was a managing partner from May 2003 to April 2004 at the Washington, D.C.-based Prana Group, Inc. There, she provided results-based outsourced sales solutions to emerging companies or large enterprises launching new products or services. In June 2000, York founded and was the CEO of 3Vectors, Inc., a Los Angeles, Calif.-based on-line auction company specializing in government surplus property sales. She sold that company in April 2003. From July 1993 to March 1996, York worked for the Democratic National Committee, including a stint as director of strategic planning for the office of the chairman.
York received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from American University and will complete this fall a certificate program in Business Administration from the Georgetown University Center for Professional Development.
